Mom's Salsa

I had to post this recipe, its absolutely amazing!


Fill a dutch oven 3/4 full with tomatoes, halved, and then mashed up a bit with a potato masher
1 large green pepper
1 large red pepper
3 jalepeno peppers
1 cup celery
1 large onion
4 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp cayenne
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp paprika

Add everything to the dutch oven. Bring to a slow boil and then in a seperate bowl mix 1/2 cup flour, 3/4 cup water. Add some of the salsa mix to warm up the mixture so it doesn't get lumpy when added to the rest of the mixture. Slowly pour into the dutch oven full of salsa and it should thicken.

Then add:

1 tbsp salt
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
2 small cans tomato paste
1/4 tsp baking soda

Simmer for 30-40 minutes.

You can either can this recipe or freeze it.
