Week 15

Jan 1, 2012

This past week has definitely had some ups and downs. We spent New Years at a wedding, and it was so stormy and snowy out. I managed to get some cleaning done today.. actually the whole main floor of our house and started working on the baby room (Talk about nesting)! Work has been crazy busy these past two weeks with my boss gone on holidays. I've been working my ever growing bum off! I still have morning sickness every morning, and feel sick until about 9:30 and I'm then able to eat breakfast. A new pregnancy symptom hit this week, feeling light headed while I get ready in the morning and then on top of it all my back has been crazy sore lately. Also, I'm adding nose bleeds in too, but I think it might just be dry air. I am pretty sure I've been feeling bean move around this week, like tiny little muscle twitches every now and then.

What I weigh: 142.2lbs (up a total of 4.2lbs)
What I'm eating: Egg salad sandwiches and pickles! For lunch.. every day this week.. yum!
How I'm Feeling: Pretty sick still in the morning, not really as uncomfortable as I've been in the past, and I'm able to sleep through a night! Yay!

I've been getting these e-mails weekly about how big our baby is, and it compares it to a fruit! I know, cute right! This week we are a...

Naval Orange!

And I decided now that I have an appetite back, I'm going to post a recipe that includes the fruit! My post for today is a super yummy bread that caused me to gain 2 lbs over the last week! Well, I'm not entirely sure it was the bread, but I'm going to blame it on that anyway.. grow away little bean!

P.S. - this recipe is using my favorite Christmas present ever! My new bread machine!

Cranberry Orange Bread (2lb Loaf)
1 cup water
1/3 cup unsweetened cranberry juice
1/3 cup skim milk powder
1/3 cup orange marmalade
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp granulated sugar
2 tbsp butter (room temp)
3 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 3/4 tsp instant yeast
3/4 cup dried cranberries

Layer in your bread maker the way your manual tells you. Mine says to put all liquids in first, followed by all solids and I added in my cranberries last. Select sweet bread cycle and let it go!
