About Me

About the girl behind the site...

Originally from super small town Saskatchewan, I currently reside in a cozy warm house in larger small town Saskatchewan with my pekingese Kato, my husband Daniel and our son Maddox. My wonderful husband has put up with me for over 5 years. We've been married since August 2011, and we became a family of three in June of 2012.

Although shy at times, I consider myself a very outgoing person. I love meeting new people and making new friends! Many of my friends have been met through my husband, who seems to always have some kind of volunteer work going on. In addition to my blogging hobby I also adore the outdoors, fishing, gardening, fashion (which sometimes I lack), reading, travelling and especially cooking.

At age 15, I discovered web/graphic design. The Geocities SiteBuilder (anyone remember that old thing) was too constraining, so I taught myself some HTML. Around 2003, when I was in grade 11, I decided I wanted to do something with my art and creativity so I signed up for New Media Communications through SIAST and in 2005 I graduated from SIAST at the top of my class. After graduating from there I moved to a major city in Saskatchewan. I loved the city life and began my career as a graphic designer for a local T-Shirt Screen printing company. I loved the work but didn't find it busy or challenging enough. In 2007, I found a job in Marketing for Federated Co-operatives Ltd. In my eyes it was the best job in the world. I was working in a head office for a company that was all over Canada, designing flyers, articles, promotional sale pamphlets, business cards, booklets and even doing side projects for the University of Saskatoon. Two years after being with my husband, he decided to move back to his hometown, and a couple months later I followed, leaving my job behind. It was a very sad day, and it has taken me a lot of time to find my creative being inside again.

This blog is a way for me to express all things creative, through my photography, cooking, quilting and hopefully writing. (I'm still working on my writing skills..)

So please sit back and enjoy my blog, as much as I enjoy creating it.
